Spring theme photo for contest

Hello, I am a beginner photographer, and in our area we are having a contest being Spring themed. I would like some input into this photo.. ,how would anyone rate this .please..

Good light and color, can't go wrong with nature (it's naturally beautiful) but the background meshes with the foreground and your subject doesn't "pop" from the photo. Getting more creative with your lighting can open a whole new door

I like your subject matter, and the color and exposure look great, but (and this may just be the small version I'm seeing) I can't tell where the focal point is.... 3 of the sprigs look equally in focus, but none of them are quite sharp either. The nice thing about plants are that they are always willing to pose for you, I'd say try a few more shots.
