thanks for the pointer, I am new at the whole portrait thing, and that was the only place I could find good natural light. The tree to the left is kind of distracting.

Lighting and pose are the first thing I look at in portrait and you did well with both ... You do need to be aware of reflections ( like off her earrings on the right side ) but for a beginner you really got the exposure and pose down well .
