That first one is so good Jiminy but a tad far away did you use a f,50 or something to get all that focus. lol... Just kidding Jiminy that is so clear and sharp. Ahh the second one is closer. The tulip is so vivid and crisp and bursting with lovely colour and the naughty bit. You have me blushing. Love looking at your macros Jiminy.. Excellent.
Jake.

rawHulk, Thanks
Coming from a graphics background, that last one struck me too. Loving It, Thanks #1 - The Fuji does some things OK without the loupe attached, mostly closeups. #3 - We were surprised to see these tulips, everyone believing the moles had eaten the bulbs! jakethepig, Thanks Would you believe - the first closeup is all Fuji, no loupe. My smallest aperture equivalent is f/9, and this was in shadow, so there's some exposure compensation going on, too. The noise in the second face shot shows the limit of the loupe. That tulip almost shouted, it was such a red! Then the Macro of that golden center piece was too much for words. Some days are better than others. There are a few more surprises coming tomorrow - things I simply found interesting. teedlepeep, Thanks We finally had enough good weather that our bugs are showing, and many go straight for the dandelions, so if you like small insects, be patient, look for several minutes for the little dark spots on the yellow blooms. And there was an odd giant-mosquito-looking bug on the tulip! They are beautiful blooms. ukgln, Thanks They are like aliens to most of us, given our average eyesight. Maybe it's better we don't see too well! Vinam, Thanks I'd heard that insect is often called a mosquito hawk, then found it's a Crane Fly, and doesn't eat mosquitoes. With a face only another Crane Fly could love! That shot shows the limit of the loupe, and I still appreciate the job it has done. And the Fuji has been good in getting reds and yellows, often tough for other brands of camera. The tulips nearly glowed in the Sun. Thanks for looking in on these. candleman, Thanks From the first day of DPS, I've had only the Fuji S3100. Then a few months later, I added the linen tester loupe, a 6X double-lens magnifying glass. That's all, then and now, two years worth. They're not magazine-quality, but I've been amazed at some of the results. For learning Macro, it works OK.
