Default North Wales Seascapes

These are my fist effort at HDR photography and they were also very nearly my last. I slipped on some rocks going down to a beach and ended up 15 feet down battered and bloody with a smashed tripod and a seriously dented ego. I used CS4 to merge the pictures to HDR and then opened them in the trial version of Photomatix and used the tone mapping function. This seems to have got round the watermark issue. Please feel free to comment as I am very keen to improve my photography, and my rockclimbing skills. Thanks in advance,
Paul

I don't know much about HDR, but I know what I like, these are amazing. Great Composition. The 1st one is a classic and I love the Posts. The Cloud and the Sea are Ominous.
I'm upgrading my computer and adding CS4 and Light Room; I've also looked at the Photomatrix site and it looks interesting.
Perhaps I'll try a few myself.

I don't do any pp other than minor tweaks here and there and that is why I don't have any amazing shots like these!

Great shots. I like the second one the best, but would hang any of them on the wall.

Very nice work. I like the textures, tones and composition. The sky has the feeling of movement, also. Big reward for a little blood...

Don`t usually like hdr pictures but then these ones don`t look like the usual hdr. I really like them.

Many thanks for the replies, I really do appreciate them. As this is my first effort at HDR and given that I am very new to all post production it is really inspiring to hear nice things said about my efforts.

There are a couple more from the set on flickr if you would like to see them.

Wonderfully dramatic black and whites. Would sure love to have scenery like that where I am at

Hello Paul,

Those are very nicely composed shots. Looking at the sky it looks as if you used quite a wide angle lens. What lens did you use to take these pics?
