Ithaca is...

For those who don't live in Ithaca or didn't go to Cornell or Ithaca College - around my sophomore year everyone suddenly started wearing t-shirts (usually green) that said "Ithaca is Gorges". Ithaca has tons of gorges (from which some students commit suicide or fall into each year). Of course, for people for whom English is not a first language - gorges is a homonym with gorgeous. Sometime later these satirical t-shirts came out.

The one I like the most is the Ithaca is COLD shirt because Ithaca IS VERY cold. For a Floridian like myself, Cornell was very punishing from about Dec until we left in May. I love Ithaca is gangsta because Ithaca is anything but. Ithaca is full of two things - preppy college kids and hippies.

Thanks! I was trying to figure out how to convey cold but still show the t-shirt.
