That first shot is just amazing. I thought that each was an entire flower til I looked closer, then I looked closer and found the detail level to be astounding in that one.
I have to ask, how did you get that ...

teedlepeep, Thanks
Since the middle of 2007, this is how the Macros/closeups get shot: ![]() and have since modified it to this easy on/off attachment: http://www.flickr.com/photos/47146451@N00/2347347913/ rohansule, Thanks That means a lot to me - this is one of my favorite sports (because the camera's set on Sport...) eugenem, Thanks Sometimes it's just wonderful to see these sights - then to be able to save them is something I thought I'd have to wait on, till the equipment for it could be a justified expense. I'd done a similar attachment of a cheap plastic magnifying glass on a Polaroid in the '70's, but the results were vignette-distorted and colors not very true. I'm glad other people enjoy these, and it has been a pleasure showing them. (Details of lens are in reply to teedlepeep above) kstraw2, Thanks That was different - at first I thought the gold of a sunset was better, like this: ![]() but now I like the blue more! HaywardTaylor, Thanks You know, I wonder if portraitists become familiar with their regular models and start to experiment and feel challenged - because of so many hours spent shooting the same subject?! That's how the dandelion strikes me, as an old friend, and a challenge to make into more than 'just a weed." I thank you for staying interested! fstopMike, Thanks And Amen! Grand and under-appreciated most of the time, Nature just goes about its business no matter what. I have to get out every day now to keep up. And loving it! Mandy73, Thanks Dandelions have relatives and sub-species and mutants and stages, and the detail - I agree - can be fantastic. The magnifying loupe described in teedlepeep's reply is most adaptable if you have a smaller camera, and is a very inexpensive way to get into Macro photography. You may enjoy it!
