I really like the DOF on this one, you can just make out the page edges in the foreground, but as soon as you look at the page itself, nothing but blur - Great job!

@kstraw2: thanks for your kind words. I have actually shot them with a sort of series in mind. Maybe it would have been better to post them altogether. Glad you liked it.

the composition is perfect .. the inclusion of the glass of ice tea suggests time out .. take a break .. come back when you're ready .. beautifully photograhed

@Hayward Taylor: Thank you for your wonderful comment I was looking at it from an invitational point of view for the muses, but your translation of taking a break is also wonderful for this picture.

I see this as both a break like Hayward suggested and as a beginning. I know when I was in college, I got the drink, the snacks, laid out the books and set down the notebook. You drink, then you sigh, then you get to work! Great shot and very artistic. I like the simplicity of it! I'd like it even better if it had a pen laying on the paper to help break up the mass of white....the type of pen would go a long way towards suggesting what will be going on....fountain pen, ball point, mechanical pencil or crayon? Each would wildly change the mood and thoughts of the composition....food for thought!
