Nice shots.....I too really enjoy B&W...there is a great magazine dedicated to it B+W magazine.
I think it is great for portraits....really puts more emphasis on the subject.

i'm kinda into black and white photos too... good thing about it is that once you shoot them, they seemed timeless... good photos you got there for a family photo album...
