Default Gone with the wind...no splashy color here

Once again departing from the flower genre, I pulled some photos from several months ago of various structures no longer in use.......tales of a bygone era......prosperity to ruin.......life and death.......what would these walls say? What have they seen?

I am always intruiged by ruins and old places. My mind wanders off and I can sit for hours dreaming up stories and wondering who lived there, what did they see what did they do? That first photo in particular is one I would love to have hanging on the wall, it would send my creative juices and mind into a complete tailspin. Can you hear the voices? Can you see the lady in the window? Can you taste the cooking in the kitchen? Don't forget the children playing in the woods... LOVE IT! Thanks for sharing.

No colour needed Patrick and your narration says it all. These are all excellent captures and the shadows in the brickword gives them depth. I have to say though Patrick, that first one is just awesome. Like something from a horror movie. You can almost hear it telling the tales from long ago when fully occupied. Just sensational. Great work Patrick.

Jake.

Wonderful! Ruins can make fantastic subjects of photography and you've certainly shown us that!

If you want it that bad, I'll send you the file! I also particularly like the house....doesn't look like it has windows at all. wish I could get up to it and look inside

Yeah, I agree...it does have a spooky air to it. Glad to present something different

Great choices with these black and white treatments! Abandoned buildings and ruins just seem to have so much character around them its so hard to explain but these images are wonderful.

Oh my, I can almost see faces looking out the windows. There is so much to be said for photographing old ruins. The stories that are bhind them or the stories you may make up by looking at them.
You certainly gave these ruins a new life with your photographs.
