Default Great Egret 2nd time around

Finally the rain stopped today, went to the park with the dog to see if we might get a few shots at the Great Egret ...

here's a wide angle view of nice spot along the river ... if you look a little to the right of middle, you can see the Egret

IMG_3086
even at that focal lenght sticks out like a sore thumb, take a look at the original size in flickr , pretty good detail for the 17-55 kit lense.

Here's another pulled in a bit after a lense change and some crop

IMG_3062
he was fishing, but I didn't get to see him catch anything, stayed with him a little while and Bandit decided he wanted to move on lol

So we headed to the lake nearby to look for the other Egret that lives in the area ( no idea where the nest is ) ... Well we spooked him/her and it took off ... in one leap and a flap of it's wings it was coasting right above the water .. I kinda missed... but here's an meager attempt to pan it

IMG_3030
although I was ready to shoot, I was not expecting a panning shot across the sun .. oh well, I'll take stock in what I did mamage to capture and will get another crack at it I'm sure.

Bandit and I were rewarded with something I have not seen, The Egret did a long bank turn and landed in a tree over the lake, I had thought I blew it and it was long gone, but I got a great opportunity to get a few good shots

IMG_3043
Kinda cool to see it up in the tree,

turned out to be a good photography day afterall ... dispite a yucky raining morning.. thanks for taking a look

Vin

Great job... I like the one in the tree. The white Egret really contrasts well againts the darker background of the tree. Cool...

Boy, both the 3rd and 4th pictures are great. I really like that bird flying along with the tip of its wings brushing the surface of the water. Keep hunting and shooting!

You are doing a great job with the Egret Vin. Another great set of captures. I like the one that you got of him in flight, nice action freeze. That park really looks a nice place to go. Nice work Vin. You are doing a great job.

Jake.
