Default Searching for Spring

As the last of the snow finally melts, I have been out searching for spring. Not much evidence of it yet but soon.

This is a few shots from last year to remind me that it is just around the corner.

These are a few shots from two days ago when I visited the cemetery.

This isn't anyone known to or related to me. Sometimes I just find it interesting to take a shot of a head stone and then go look up the person or the date of their death. This is one of the things I found for the day he died.

Development of the Normandy Bridgehead: June 10-18, 1944
Allied forces continued to press forward. American armed forces established a corridor cutting off the German held Contentin Peninsula while British and Canadian armies continued to tie down the bulk of the German armor in the battle for Caen.

I wonder if he died during that.

Deb - two unrelated subjects and yet so inspiring .. we continue to search for something to fulfill our needs and at the same time pay tribute to those who have given their lives so we can enjoy the pleasure of everyday living ... your intentions and your images are of high standards

The last one is very moving. The mommy in me cries for everyone whose life is shorter than I expect it to be.

I love the first series because of my love of horses. I used to ride in youth competitions atop a big gray gelding. Beautiful shots. The gravestone is very moving. I like that you looked up the day of his death. Whatever the cause, his life was cut too short.

These two collages are excellent Ftboah. The first one really must fill you full of spring feelings and is a good reminder of what is to come. The second one, I love your words and the colour in the captures is awesome.. Beautiful work and I am glad the horrible snow is clearing away.
