What an interesting photo. Could you please explain a bit about the purpose of marking the land, and the man with the plate?

We've now seen a number of your shots Neerod and I have to say you have a genuine talent for seeing a wonderful picture. This one is very simple, no clutter. Two people going about their work. Your treatment of this shot is excellent. Keep up the great work, my friend. Very well done

Neerod, your composition of this photograph is excellent and the interest is in our imagination. Why are these two people doing this? Maybe to prepare the land for some vegetation or maybe marking out a territory. No matter, everyone will have a story for this photograph. This is what makes it so good in my opinion. The mind is a wonderful thing and thank you for excercising mine. Nice work Neerod.

Jake.

@ Chip; Glayva; rawHulk; Jake: Thanks a lot for your interest and kind words. I feel so encouraged As for the story... the great river padma dries out a little in the summer season and that is the time we have these huge expanses of fertile soil coming out of the water. We call them 'char' in our language. For this period of three to four months you will find landless and destitute people come and setup houses on these 'char's and try to make a living out of the food they cultivate. These two are landless farmers, demarking the land for agriculture. Generally, once the land is properly channeled, you would find seeds being planted. What interested me was the plate in hand second guy following the first one. They are so poor that maybe that plate is one of the few possessions they have :s

Your photo can be summed up in one word in English - primal. It is about the cycle of life and the human condition, which is what makes it so appealing. Great capture!

The photo by itself was plenty interesting. The photo with the story behind it makes this complets. Thanks very much, NeerodSKR.
