Continuing the journey through the Smokies

This 1st photo should explain clearly why these hills are called the Smoky Mountains. The clouds in the valleys are a near daily occurence. The 2nd photo is along the ridge of the mountains at a higher elevation. This is early October and the color is fabulous. The third is down in one of the valleys near Gatlinburg along the Historic Nature Trail and the last one is a waterfall called The Sinks which has a wonderful pool of calm water just downstream for fishing etc.

These are just gorgeous! I love the pop of the vivid color in the second one for sure. The first one looks so majestic and mysterious! I love the misty, smoky feel! I love the tranquility of the last two. All of them are a really stunning collection of nature at her best.
