Was at the park, was windy, they were renting renting row boats, which I thought was pretty funny, cause the wind was blowing in the direction of the River current.. But alias , I had the pleasure of watching some folks who care little for 15 mph winds and spring river current
was a sunny breezy day, this fellow rowed all the way to the spillway at the end, he was really enjoying himself and was making excellent time .. a real world class Boat Rower !! ![]() Stoke , Stroke . Stoke .. Wheeee !! But, whatever goes up, must come down, and he had to row that heavy alum boat back up river against the wind and current , and after about 3 minutes ... well let's just say I hope he forgives me for laughing from the shore where I was taking pictures ![]() Stroke ... whoas moving backwards .. Stroke .. umm, tired , need rest .. I watched him for about 45 minutes while I played with the swans Lesson learned ... row up river on the way from the dock MORON ! This was one of the swan shots, I am walking that razor edged line of white balance blowout and seeing shadows in the feathers, it's doesn't miss the mark by much, but the tail feathers drove me nuts and finally I just hit save .. I might have used my Circle Pol filter if I remembered ![]() Hope you had a good monday and laughted at Mr. Row boat !! vin

Vin, as always, on all three...world class focus. I really like how you captured the rower's expression so well! And you've gotten the swan down pat...NO details lost, perfect exposure.

I know that feeling Vin, We set off with all good intentions and then realize that it wasn't such a good idea. You sum that up so well with these captures. He probably got a lot further than I would have done. Love the swan Vin. Glad to see that you are still catching the odd one and a great job you did with it too. I had a great Monday Vin. Glad you did too. thanks for the giggle buddy.

We've all seen your talented side, now we see your empathetic side !............... but surely if you're gonna laugh at someones misfortunes, isn't it better to be several thousand miles away, rather than on the bank of the same river ![]() Great pictures my friend ![]() beachcomber Last edited by beachcomber; 04-28-2009 at 07:29 PM. |

thanks everyone, you'll be happy to know he did make it back to the dock ( I did check to make sure he didn't have a heart attack lol )
since he was shot at 400mm there was no way he could hear me lol, pretty soon that river is going to be full of those rowboats and I'm going to have to hike up river to get away from them , pesty humans always messing up my nature shots Vin
