just getting a shot of Eagles is tough, the first is a keeper regardless, good job !!
the second one is so cute, I can not wait till I start getting gooselings and chicks ( there's gonna be tons in some of my stomping grounds ) I really like how the chicks were in the middle swimming for you ! Ahh a Gottasnap tree ! and a beauty ! I like your study of trees, not many people do them as a subject and you always find cool ones to shoot ... the one branch on this old stump says " hanging onto life " powerful message thanks for showing them ( an eagle shots is a eagle shot, take what's given ! ) ![]() Vin

Thanks Vin. Through the binoculars, I could see that one of these wonderful birds seemed to be paying a lot of attention to something in the nest. Maybe feeding time?? I am not usually a bird watcher, but I was very pleased to learn there are some Eagles in the area at last! Haven't seen any around here since I was quite young.
And yeah I have wierd fascination with trees and sky. Not really interesting subjects, but I do like walking in the woods and that is about all there is there! Thanks for looking! Becca |

Wonderful photos. The bird shots are very nice, but oh, my I LOVE the tree. The angle and lighting you used was extremely effective. Next to my grandson, trees are one of my favorite subjects, for the same reasons you stated. We love to walk and it is a natural progression.

This nest is in the swamps just across the bridge from Indiana into Henderson. Between the Ohio River and Audobon State Park. A very swampy area full of dead looking trees that are full of nests. I have pics that have 5 or 6 Herron looking birds in the trees around the eagle nest. I may post some of them tomorrow. But like I said...not a big telephoto lens available, so not really good shots. Well except of the turtles that were all over the place!

The tree is inspirational. Some snags look as though there could still be a little life left in them but this one looks completely spent. There's a sign in my office that says: "And yet..." It is a sentiment that fits so well with this photograph. Very effecting. Thank you.
