Default Just messing around

I was messing around in the back yard today, trying out a remote shutter release and the slave function on my flash. (never did get it to work right) I came up with a few I hope the group will enjoy. PP was a crop and a slight exposure correction. Any and all comments are always appreciated. I also converted the last one to Black and White.

First a big fat Pigeon..

Second, not an exotic but a hungry bird.

Third the male counterpart of the above female(I think) a common house finch.

Lastly, a fence board. Kind of a small texture study?

For the larger version, click to see them in my Picassa Web Album and thanks for looking.

Very nice photos Fred .. clean focus on the birds ( not as easy as it seems ) .. I love the female and male shoots ( inspiration !! ) and your photo of the woodgrain and knot in the fence is an excellent case in point of simple = beauty , well done !

Lol, An elephant? I don't see it myself but I'm sure glad you liked the photos.

You photos remind me that the commonly seen House Finch is uncommonly beautiful. I like that you traveled to your backyard as though you were going on a great adventure, in search of the exotic. Through those eyes, you were successful. Even a knot on a piece of weathered board is a thing of beauty. Thanks for the trek!
