Default The Smoky Mountains in the Fall

My son and I went on a camping trip last Fall to commemorate his 19th birthday and over the 4 days, we went all over the place. We camped down in the valleys near the streams and then spent our days driving up to the scenic viewpoints among many other activities. The high views were taken near the summit of Clingman's Dome and the stream photos are of the Little River which we camped beside. You may wonder about the dead trees near the summit...to the best of my memory, they were killed off by a beetle infestation. The dead trees extend from the top of the summit downslope for about 750-1000ft.

Beautiful shots. I love the way the clouds cover the valleys. Looks like a great place to get away!

Wow Patrick, what a lovely place to go for a camping trip. The scenery is breathtaking and the colours are beautiful. Great shots from next to the river. I think you must have plenty more where these come from buddy. Thanks for sharing your camping trip with us and this is great work Patrick.

Your pics are gorgeous. Looks like a wonderful place to camp. I especially like the one of the little falls.
