Default Pre-framed landscapes

Boy, it's getting like a day without taking pictures feels like a day without breathing! I went down to one of my favourite local ruins today to experiment with some strobist stuff, mixing ambient light with flash. Felt like I had a very productive couple of hours so I thought I'd share some.

Hoopers frame 4

Hoopers Frame 3

Thanks for looking.

Great use of the natural frames from that ruined building to show us the lovely landscape around you. Very creative work elephunk. You had a good day.

Nice shots! I do feel that they are a bit bland overall; there is little contrast between the wood and the surroundings.

Would you care to go even more Strobist and tell us your lighting setup?

Thanks for that Sybren, I might go back to the raws and tweak them a little, since they do seem to have lost a bit of contrast in the transition to flickr. My setup was simple, I underexposed the landscape by about a stop to get a little detail out of a pretty bland afternoon sky, and lit the foreground with an old 430 EZ held off-camera.

Thanks bradzo66, glad you like #4. When I get some time, I'm going to play with shopping something really incongruous into that 2nd window, like a giant eye, or an urban landscape, should be fun.
