Sopons,
Nice shot. wonderful shades too. Can you share how you did it in PP. I like to do the same with one of my pic but it did not show the nice shades.
Thanks. I appreciate it.

Thank you, I really appreciate the long and detailed comment like yours. Yes, contrast & texture in color pictures can't be compared to the B&W ones, and you don't really want to see the color version of this one...it's not comparable.

JoeD, Thank you for your comment. I usually succeed more in converting pictures to BW from color, if the pictures are overexposed. Like this one, It was at least one stop higher than my camera suggestion. The point I am getting at is that I wanted the BW picture of this one, and I wanted the details in the rock, so I overexposed the sky, and fixed that later with gradient tool in Lightroom. It's much easier for me that way. From there, it's just contrast/light and some small details in the picture that I added for this picture. I am not sure if that is helpful, but if you still have a question, please let me know. I am not the expert, but I will try to help as much as I can.

This shot is so simple yet so interesting, its calming it makes you feel relaxed. I love B & W photography. Thanks for sharing this beautiful image.
