Lava and Pine

Lava and Pine

I keep trying different scenarios but they don`t work, this is my final attempt. It`s a piece of lava and a pine cone from Mount Teide on Tenerife.

Glad you did it! I really like the simplicity and the contrast in shapes and lines.

Default What a Creative Group!

When I started this thread, I had no idea so many people would take up the challenge. The response has been amazing and your posts creative and varied. Thanks so much.

Here's a link to a site on Flickr that features nothing but still life photography. I have found it very inspirational:

Murtsama - this is so creative. I love your double meaning!

johnhawn - What a beautiful first post. What could be better than curried veggies. One problem. The veggies are too pretty to eat!

snaphappy - DPS is a good place to come to learn. This is a beautiful rose. Thanks for posting it here.

WhiskeyPete - Aside from being a good example of DOF, there's just something about the appeal of keys. They seem to ask questions like keys to what? Nice photo.

billmac57 - Oh, please don't let this be your final attempt! Still life just requires a different part of the brain. Photographers are, for the most part, unaccustomed to setting up their shot, aren't they? This is a good photo, especially because it includes objects that serve to remind you of a great trip.

TTG - This is so beautiful! You have a real gift for this genre. I hope you will check out the website mention at the beginning of this thread. I think they would love your work.
Thanks for reviving this thread, BTW.
