This isn't actually my very first shot... but it is the closest to first - number five. I guess I deleted the others. Actually right at this very second it is uploading to flickr... and I'm not even sure what I will see once it is finished uploading! lol...
![]() okay... not really very surprised! My five year old! He was with me when I bought it... and when I got it home... he was my first subject! (This has had absolutely no post processing... as you can probably tell! lol)

As I said, I'm completely new to this and am having trouble finding some basics. Could someone please tell me how I can add what type of camera I'm using to my posts. I see at the end of a lot of people's posts the type of camera (usually under any pictures or under their name) but can't for the life of me figure out how to get this to show up for me. Thanks for any help!

Go to the User CP tab, once there if you look along the left tool bar you will see something along the lines of edit my signature. That is how we get the "tag" lines a the bottom.

Here is the first real attempt at a photo with my DSLR. I had about 100 or so playing around shots of the floor and a lamp and such, but this is the first "real" photo.
My son was as excited to see my new toy as I was!!! This is the original large fine jpg (before I discovered the joy of RAW!!) all I have shopped is the size here!

This is my very first picture with my first dSLR.
I guess I thought the shadows were interesting. Don't have too much to say for the composition though. :P This damn clothes horse is almost permanently parked in the front of our unit. I wish we were diligent and just took it down when things were dry rather than when we need to wear them! (Quality slightly reduced to fit attachment size.)

In November 2007 I was Kumamoto in Japan with my cousin when I suddenly wanted to replace my Powershot S2 IS with a Nikon D40. That morning we where going to a deserted mountain area in the southern part of Japan, so I thought this would be a great time for DSLR testing. So before the train would leave Kumamoto, we desperatly wandered up and down the streets, trying to find a camera store. And guess what? We didnt' find ANY! And we where in JAPAN! Feeling terrible, I had to give it up and took the tram to the train station. Of course, my luck hadn't left me just yet. Right next to the station, there was a small camera store. Nothing big, but just enough to actually sell the D40 with both kit lenses and a camera bag. I was so happy. This picture was shot on the platform with the 55-200mm kit lens , just before the train arrived.
