My new camera was delivered on Nov 28, 2007 by the sweet little man in "Brown". It was a gift from my family, but my mom (pictured above) was the one who actually did the purchasing of it. She is also the one who insisted I open it before Christmas. So, I opened it, put the lens on it and pushed the button. She was my first target and she hated getting her picture taken. I think I took one or two of her a day almost for the next 5 weeks...she died on Jan 14, 2008 of cancer. Thank you for the opportunity to share all that by asking for the picture and story
That is a beautiful story!!

@ klew: Ee! Headless Wii boxer!

@ Sandie: I'm very sorry for your loss. You seem to have caught a great, pure personality shot of your mother, tho'.

Sandie, I am so sorry to hear of your loss. My prayers and thoughts are with you in this time of grief. Your mom left you a wonderful, thoughtful gift to remind you of her, and what a wonderful photo to document the memory of opening her gift to you. My heart goes out to you.

Wishing you the best during this difficult time,
~Peach

Default First pic

My first 'proper' camera. Christmas day 2006. My first ever shot. Only saved cos I used the cheapo memory card that came with it then got a bigger one and haven't used the cheap one since.

Default My First

OK,

My first post here, so I guess its only fitting it should be in this thread.

This is the first shot from my Camera, a Rebel XT, Christmas Day, 2006. The subject is pretty much the reason I bought the camera in the first place!

Here goes:

Margaritas?

Will try to spend more time here, as I have so much to learn from all you folks. Looking forward to it!.
