Default Airshow!

Fun day today... My first time shooting an airshow. I did discover that my autofocus cannot track an aircraft moving at 300 mph over 3000 feet away, so please excuse the fact that my focus may not be the sharpest you've ever seen. Most of the in-flight shots were manual focus on the fly (so to speak). I'll post a few and if anyone wants to see more, I can do that as well...

As long as I can remember, the Harvard trainers have been the airshow image that sticks most in my mind...

Harvards Steep Climb

Harvards Low Pass

These are the men who were flying the Harvards, and they fly them like demons...

Harvard Pilots

And finally one of what is currently the only Lancaster bomber flying worldwide. They have one other in England which is still airworthy, but it's currently down for maintenance.

Lancaster

I used up a good chunk of memory shooting the Snowbirds, but I still need to sort through them...

Very nice shots. I think they are all focused rather well. When I got my first dslr 2 years ago, my first real use of it was at an airshow. It is rather difficult focusing at times. I was forever zooming out to get focused and zooming back in slowly to keep locked on. I'm anxious to see more of your pics from the airshow.

Great shots! I don't think the focus is off horribly by any means. You definitely did better than I would.

Glad everyone likes them, and that I seem to have encouraged everyone to post airshow pics... As far as quality, I took 700 pictures yesterday, and a lot of them you'll never see :-)

Gotta post one more of the yellow guys... This was taken as they taxied out to takeoff, just after the third plane joined the formation...

Gonna make a new post with some Snowbirds shots...
