Sue, these are GREAT! The third is my fave. Excellent job of getting them so sharp.

Thanks Susan. The lens I have been using is amazing. Either totally crystal clear or totally blurry Can be hard to follow the action and keep it all in focus !

What I love about these is that you can see their faces AND their numbers - there is no question about who they are - these are great!

teedlepeep,

Great shots. I like the last one the best, you can almost feel the anxiety of the goalie trying to stop the puck.

What's your setup? You mention that your lens is amazing, but you didn't tell us what lens it was.

Thanks Pat !! I hate the shots when you can't see the people playing.

Thank You. I shoot with a D700 and for this game I was using an f2.8 Nikon 300mm with strobes

Would love to know how you mounted the strobes and what type, The only time I shot hockey with strobes they were provided by the venue and mounted in the ceiling. Often thought if I could bring in some of my strobes I could gain a couple of stops in some of these crappy arenas I shoot at

The strobes are mounted on some beams off the back of the rink and bounced off the ceiling.
