Default OUT ! Here's the rules.

For those that don't know the rules to cricket. I'll give you a quick run down of how the game is played.

You have two sides, one out in the field and one in.
Each man that's in the side that's in goes out,
and when he's out he comes in and the next man goes in until he's out.
When they are all out, the side that's out comes in and the
side that's been in goes out and tries to get those coming in, out.
Sometimes you get men still in and not out. When a man goes out to go in,
the men who are out try to get him out,
and when he is out he goes in and the next man in goes out and goes in.
There are two men called umpires who stay out all the time and they
decide when the men who are in are out.
When both sides have been in and all the men have been out,
and both sides have been out twice after all the men have been in,
including those who are not out, that is the end of the game.

Simple!

Love the color though I might have opted for a tighter crop. Thanks for the rundown on the game!

ok, yeah I was lost after the first sentence of 'out'. The picture looks good though.

@MrBeta - yes a tighter crop probably would be better. This one is getting close to 100% any. Not much left to crop. The action happens 100 away from the seats at this particular ground(stadium).

Thanks for looking.

Few things more pleasurable in life than seeing an Aussie getting bowled!

Thanks for sharing

BTW - tighter crop would help this image as metioned. There seems to be a fair amout of detail in the pic as it is, so should be OK. What camera/ lens combo? The freeze frame is really good

I'll take a guess your a pom

OK, here's a tighter crop. Really losing some detail here, though it's not too bad at 800wide I guess.
40D , 70-200 f/4.0
1/200 , f4.0 , ISO 100 , 189mm(sometimes Lightroom says it's not at 200 even though I know I have the zoom maxed out.)

Here's the original shot showing the above crop.

That's why the big boys down the front use the 400mm f2 glass that costs about as much as a second hand car!

Great shot of the instant of the ball hitting middle stump though.

That's at the 'G', right? I loved that 'swirly' cut of the grass they did for that match (actually for the T20 before that one). I'm hoping to be there next Saturday if there is a fourth day* in the Sheffield Shield final.

*Yes, non-cricket-watching people, we can play cricket for up to five days and sometimes still not get a result! Sometimes there is a draw and very, very rarely, a tie!

Once you understand the game, you love it like no other. Its just the understanding that is a bit tough for some I guess.... Now if it was my man Dale Steyn on the bowlers end I would be happy!

We are getting such hassles about taking SLRs into stadiums at the moment - I feel like a terrorist. I am going to a few Soccer world cup games here and they say *NO* cameras. What a waste. Even tiny PS cams for somebody who just wants to remember the occasion is out.

Are you not having too many probs with stadiums and cams in Aus then?
