Default Windsurfing - capturing speed

I have recently bought a teleconverter however the autofocus doesn't work well so have been using manual focus.
Any tips on getting a sharper focus on the object while still capturing the speed blur? I am moving the camera with the windsurfer.

This shot taken on S mode at 1/50.

Thanks!!
Jo

Your shot looks good. It's difficult to get tack sharp when panning, though I've seen others do it. If you have a faster lens, you might be able to use auto focus, which would help. Some people swear by a , which will help steady your camera even further. Now this isn't strictly sharpness, but you might try a more wide-open aperture than F22 since when panning, your background is going to be blurred already, you don't need that big depth of field. Finally, just take a lot of shots and some will be sharper than others as to the main subject.

Best of luck, I thought your shot was quite good.
