Default MMA Action Shot

Hi Guys,

Did my first MMA event the other week (from ringside!) and have finally got through the 2000 odd shots I took (god there was a lot of rubbish in there...)

This is one of the better ones from the set, please critique on the composition, does it do justice to the action?

EXIF:
Camera: Nikon D60
ISO: 800
Exposure: 1/100sec at f3.5
Flash: SB600 on TTL (diffused)

Obviously my kit isn't ideal for this and am looking at upgrading both lens and camera, but would really like your thoughts on this particular image.

Regards,

Alastair

Composition looks good. I think I'd like to see the kicker's face in focus so perhaps using a smaller aperture might work? Any you might try bouncing the flash off of the ceiling to knock down some of the harsh light.
Overall I like the shot. You've frozen the action quite well.

I don't personally care for the vignette. I'd also like to see some contact made, such as the ones here.
