You're going to need to use a higher ISO to allow for a higher shutter speed. I dont think the flash is going to do to much to help. It will be tough without a fast aperature though. But bump your ISO and see how that works.

Yep. No flash on an expansive view like that. All you do is light up distracting objects that are in the few rows in front of you -- that guy's blue hat, for example. Let your foreground be dark, maybe silhouetted even. to draw the eye to the action on the field.

Without being on the field and having a large aperture it will be tough. Just go down low as you can before and after the game and you should get a few decent shots.
We got some 5th row Rams/Packers tickets a couple months back and I got a few "ok" shots with a aperture of f5.6 at 300mm and I think the shutter was around 1/320 with a ISO of 1600. I don't like to go 1600 because of the noise but I needed at least 1/320 to get decent stop action. If your able to get a field pass please let me know how! Good luck and have fun! ![]() You can see a lot of noise in this pic ![]() NFL Football - a set on Flickr

you used f4/3 for that i would say use f8 or f11 to get real sharp people (depends on your lens), but then light and speed is problematic. Whatever you so, dont shoot wide open (assuming you dont have pro level lens) stop down at least one fstop from wide.
Personally for such a wide view, I would bump ISO to maintain a decent shutter speed (min 1/focal lenght if hand held), use f8 or even f11 or f16 for sharpness and DoF, and PP with Noise ninja to push noise down. Dont use flash at all. Other option is to use a telephoto - pick out features seperately, like players exiting tunnel, cheerleaders, fireworks, and the red thing on the right. Means have to shoot fast to get them at the time you want though.
