Default Beach Handstand

This is a shot of my wife doing a handstand under an arch at Laguna Beach. I'm wondering if this shot is overexposed or ok. Feedback, por favor.

I think the photo would have had much more impact if in fact the background sky wasn't blown out.

I agree that it would be more impactful if sky wasn't blown out, but it still kinda works for me. I like it.

Your background is blown out but with the shadows in the foreground I like the burst of light. Might tone it down just a touch thou.

Maybe experiment with some monochrome effects?

Thanks for all the input, everyone! I don't have photoshop, so maintaining the foreground color and exposure and darkening the background is tricky at this point, but one of these days...

Sure the sky is blown out - but you're shooting into a bright sky and have exposed your subject perfectly.

I don't mind it as it is, but you might like to try toning down the highlights. Alternatively, for next time, this is one situation that might benefit from some HDR work, to bring out the detail in the sky too.

I don't mind the blown-out sky much (it actually looks like she's doing a handstand in front of a brilliant blast of light... kind of neat). If it really bothers you, you could photoshop in a sky from another photo.

I also think it could be cool to see only her silhouette, against a well-exposed sky. But all of that said, I like the photo as it is.
