Linda, Questions then answers.

1. What is your exif data for this photo?
2. What time of day was it taken?
3. What were you trying to accomplish with this photo?

Jim

thanks JF, edited my original post and think ive given you all you asked, im just trying different types of photography i wanted some action, like them leaning at corners and particularly wanted the blurred effect on the wheels to give the pic motion, not sure if i got that part right , thanks again

At 1/640 second you won't need a tripod, so don't feel bad that you left it at home ;-)

But... for blurred wheels you'll need a long shuter time. That would also blur the rest of the bike, unless you start panning your camera. In a corner like this, that's nearly impossible to get right. All in all I think that you've done a nice job with this photo!

Perhaps you could leave the other bike entirely in the photo? Was it complete in the original shot? Now it's more of a distracting darkness than another biker. With that biker added it would probably add more dynamics and depth to the photo.

2 basic things, the crop is too tight for this shot and the shutter speed is too high.

its a good start!
