Default NFL Rams vs Packers in St Louis

Definatly not the premier match up of the weekend but none the less we had great seats so I thought that would make for some decent shots of my Pack.

I'm looking for composition critique more than anything. Most (if not all) of the photos have been cropped a little. Looking to improve where to crop, what should I crop out, or leave in.

I put about 16 photos on my flickr Photostream if you would like to see more.
Thanks! I look forward to your critique!

Nice and sharp

I'm guessing you were at 6.3 because you couldn't go any lower, but if you ever get a chance to use a different lens, try to drop your f-stop as low as possible to blur out the background. The photographers in the background are a little distracting, as is the line through his head. I don't know what the original crop looked like but I might have tried a horizontal crop with negative space to the right for him to move into.

I'd say your pretty much dead on with your assessment of this photo too.
Yea, that was as wide open as I could go. My camera only allows a ISO of 1600 so I had that maxed as well. (I hate going to 1600 but I will if I have to)
I thought the lighting was fairly dim in there.

I never noticed the line though the head but that is kinda distracting.

Thanks for the critiqe!

Yea, the lighting in any stadium is usually pretty bad. I had to go to 3200 on my 40D last time... and that was at f2.8. Almost made me cry haha.

You did well, with your lens limitations and sitting arrangements, there's only so much one can do without actually being out on the sidelines. But, doesn't this make you want to rent one of those faster lenses and shoot more sports

Absolutely. Within the next year I hope to upgrade to the 70-200 2.8 that you have Jim. Of course that still won't get me down on the field for professional events but not much I can do about that. I'll just have to practice at local events and see where that takes me.
Thanks Jim.
