Default Kayaking

hi all this is my first submission to the forum ..

I have started lately to take pics of kayakers here in my area and have kinda become addicted to it .. :-)
I like the pic .. but think the lighting is a bit blah ... I had to do a bit of post processing to bring out his face since it was in the shadow of his arm .. does the image look overprocessed

thanks for your comments

Great shot, and although it looks like you might have sharpened it a bit much it actually works as the water droplets really stand out.. The only thing I would change is the background is to dark in comparison to the rest of the photo.
Here is a quick edit

Compositionally, I like the placement of the kayaker using the rules of thirds. I do have to agree that the background is a bit too dark. I can see where this would become addicting. Very nice action.

Nice shot! It is very addicting photographing kayakers, isn't it. I don't mean to hijack your thread, I just want to send an invitation to you to check out some of the kayaking shots I've taken. There is a course in a city about 2 hours north of me & I have gone up there a few times to photograph events that are held there. It's so much fun!! Keep up the good work!!

Hi Dave

I dont know if its the colors or the action or just the fact that when they see you with the camera in hand they come over and talk to you .... but its become one of my favorite pass times ... I am lucky enough to have a kayak course about 5 minutes away from my house and a great white water river about 30 minutes away ...

I checked out your galleries you have some great shots ...

here is the link to my gallery Rapides et Dang - heureux ... Photo Gallery by Richard Seguin at pbase.com

I liked the first post with the darker background. I really like the water drops in the air. Also the look on the kayakers face is great.

Rick, I checked out your gallery. All I can say is WOW! You got got some really great shots in there. Well done, my man, well done. Helps to have nice glass also. I left a few comments for ya. I could have left more but I didn't want your head to swell too much. Just one quick off topic thing. While in the kayaking section, when I hit the "previous" button I was sent to wildlife pics. While I was there I checked out your wildlife shots also. Very nice!! The "Previous" button seemed to work fine in that section.
