Default First attempt at Equestrian photography

Took a visit to a Cross Country event yesterday and had a chance at shooting some action photos of the horses in action. Have edited them in lightroom to boost colour etc but am after some critique on the photos themselves.

Thanks

Thought I had read them all! Sorry. I assume it's one pic per post then.

For my taste the green is just too green. Am wondering if by boosting the saturation, is that what brought out that stuff all over its legs?
I'd like to also see its tail!
I do like the way you captured it mid air!!

Good catch... I would say perhaps a larger apeture would have brought more focus on the horse and rider and a little less on background... also affording you an even faster shutter speed but i will say you did great at 1/400... i wouldn't have thought you could catch mid-gallop at that speed! These events are great for photography--outdoors with lots of light and gorgeous subjects. Bravo!
