I know this is breaking the rules, but I'm so new at this I don't have a specific question other than how can it be improved?

hey
really like the framing and the pattern of the water and skier across the shot that looks very nice ![]() was it an overcast day?? just that it kinda looks like it could just be a digital/in-camera thing that could do with a little tweeking in software for a bit more ooomph ![]() and perhaps if the subject is facing away from the main sunlight source (the bit of sunlight seems to be on the subjects left and nearly behind them), try to shoot more with the sun behind u where possible so the sun/light source is more hitting your main subject where u need it - eg more on their face/front side lighting may work nicely in a shot like this if its stronger/brigher/more contrast maybe its also overall kind of the colour plus brightness/contrast, or of lack of it looks a bit on the grey side overall most water and water sport really looks best with some nice colour in the water - could make a big difference guess it obviously depends on the light of the day with a good fuji film and print the water might have a lot more colour could be a tad soft on the skier also, or maybe partly lack of brightness/contrast with digital dont know that much about software others here must know heaps about that and how to add some colour and brighten it up a bit maybe play with curves for brightness and contrast or something etc
