Default Hanging On - Football

I shot this using a Nikon D40 and a 300mm lens on straight sports mode in my early days of photography. I have since moved over to Canon and wide open 2.8 lenses for all my sports shooting.

I tend to like this shot, any comments?

I think you captured the moment perfectly. Holding on to the last strand to save the touchdown.

Perhaps he should have tucked in his shirt and jersey.

About the photo: I don't know if this is cropped from a larger image, but there's no room for the ball carrier to run into. The left side just stops abruptly. A little more room there might be beneficial.

Otherwise, the shot's not bad. The background is busy, but that's not always, if ever, controllable with these types of games, so a shallow depth of field is your only option.

It looks like one of the coaches in the white shirts over on the sidelines is laughing. I like that. Unique capture.
