Default Skateboarder and fire

Hey there,

It's a long time since I've been here, but now it's time again.
I were out skating and shooting with my friends yesterday and got some pictures, that i would like som critique on.

The last picture is linked to in the picture, I have no idea of which i like the best, so I chose the two.

I'm looking forward to your critique.

It depends on what you wanted your focus to be as to which is better. I like the compostition of the first better, the second has too much going on in the middle esp. with the focus on the skater.

The flame is a bit lost in both. I think it would be good to try shooting at night with an off camera speedlite for the skater (cheap and nasty Ebay remotes are good). Then you would see the skater and the flame.

In the first image I think the composition and idea are very cool. I'm not sure what to do about the exposure. The firepit is a bit underexposed to me but I don't think you could speedlight that without losing the flames... shooting at night would just enhance this problem.

I like it. Creative idea.

The second picture gives the illusion that hes jumping over/into a fire pit which seems kind fo hokie to me.

The pose of the skater in the background is fantastic!

Personally, I prefer the composition of the second, but the focus of the first. I would like to see the second with a focus on the flames and smoke.
