Default Baseball Photo

Here's a photo I took yesterday at a Braves game. Any comments/suggestions? Specifically the composition, color, and brightness.

Camera: Canon EOS 30D
Exposure: 0.004 sec (1/250)
Aperture: f/10.0
Focal Length: 47 mm
ISO Speed: 250
Flash: Off

It mostly looks ok but I can't deal with the netting.

I agree, the netting just takes away from it way too much.

Its very "snap shot from the crowd", there isn't even anything happening in the game. Since the stands look empty couldn't you have gone an got a spot closer to the action and maybe shot a play in the making, some action at least.

I knew the netting was distracting, I just couldn't decide if it was a make-or-break thing.

fletch, actually, what looks like empty stands in the background is really just a wall. But you're right, I should have moved around to somewhere that the net wasn't in the way.

Thanks for your comments everybody!

Its not the net that does it for me, its the lack of anything going on behind the net.
