Not bad at all , I spend a good deal of my time taking surfing shots and this is pretty good for someone who doesnt do it a lot , did you use a tripod ?

Yeah all good , I find at that focal length I start to get abit unstable , and will always use it when taking these type of images , as I normally use a 500mm and sometimes with tele converter it wobbles bad and the image can get a little soft at larger sizes (poster ) . All up you captured the action well , and should be pleased . I was trying to work out what time of day it was whether you could get more light on the front side of the surfer at a different time of day ?

The exposure was 1/500th I think that I probably could have brought it up to 1/2000 or so by using a larger aperture. The picture was taken at 2:50pm in November if that helps you out at all. The sunset on that specific day was at 4:53 pm. I guess if I was out there at an early hour I could have gotten a shot with the front of surfer lit up.

I think it`s a great action shot. I would beleive he`s about to fall with the angle. It would have been nice to have more light in front to show more details of this guy but we cannot always have the right lighting on command.
