Question Taxi Cab @ NYC

Hi:

This is one of my first pictures. At that time I thought it was a mistake to have the main subject on focus, and the background blurry, but after a few years I learn this is a whole technique. And I like it!!!

What can you say about it?

Don't know what camera and lens or shutter speed did you used, but try this again with a little less on shutter priority, 1/50 or even slower, than you will get the panning shot (if this is what you have in mind)

Here is your EXIF file if you want it, it works beter for critique when you do

Camera: Sony Cybershot
Exposure: 0.013 sec (1/80)
Aperture: f/5.6
Focal Length: 9.7 mm
ISO Speed: 100
Exposure Bias: 0 EV
Flash: No Flash

The large apparture, will guive you a shalow DOF, guiving you a background not in focus but also the relative low shutter speed panning as the car goes by will guive you the speed effect. wich one are you after?

I think your shot looks great, the radio city and yellow cab are two classics of new york.
