My question is about composition. Good use of the rule of 1/3s? Bad use of rule of 1/3s? What do you think?

I like the players position in the frame. And you put the field/wall intersection on a horizontal third which looks nice. So, good use of 1/3s.

Not crazy about the position of the base and the orange banner as my eye is drawn to them, but are both near the very edge of the frame, which is distracting. I don't know what to suggest you do with them though..

Thanks for the info. I think the base is justified as it gives an anchor and a subtext. But I agree the orange does compete a bit with the main subject.
