This ended up being a behind shot- so I guess my question is - with no real face shot is this worthless as a "sports" shot. I think I'm asking about composition?

I like the compostition... you've got a sort of partial frame with the two players on the left, and your eye is drawn to the player in blue. Your right that magically transporting yourself to the other side of the pitch would have been a lot better, but the shot's far from worthless... you've got the numbers nice and clear, so the player's are still identifiable.

Plus, number 17 looks like he's caught in the middle of pulling of a Cruyff turn, which would be pretty impressive skills for someone that young!

Wow, that tackle from behind is for red card... and you captured the very moment and the fact he's going for the leg and not the ball... so, I would say it is sports photo... It captured very nice moment in a game.

(yes, Im joking for the card, i can see those are kids, lol)

To be honest I think you know what is wrong with the photo; lack of face is something that usually means I throw away the photo. This being said, the shot might posses value to the individual involved because they know it was them without needing a face.
