Default Panning a Jet

Hi,

I have posted some panning shots of jets before, and I was told that I should try and get the whole jet in the frame. So, I'm posting this one, which has the entire jet in the frame. Please tell me what else I can improve on. Any critique on any other stuff pertaining to the photo is also welcome.

P.S: I'm not sure if this size shows the full motion....pls have a look at the larger photo on my flickr. Thanks for your valuable time.

Camera: Nikon D80

Hi Vik,
well coming from an Air Force background I know how hard it is to capture a fast jet on take off and you have done a cracking job with this image. It looks like the up graded Mig, I think the panning shot is excellent and I really like what you have created. Thanks for sharing it.

Very nice - you captured the plane very well.
It's unfortunate that you had to shoot through the fence, though. The top of the fence line and the blue vertical streak in the tail are a little distracting. But I think you've got the panning part nailed here.

Good work...get a portable step ladder! It''ll help you shoot over the fence.

I think this time you nailed the panning, and did so with the whole jet into the frame, good job. The fence is still distracting...

Thank you all for all your wonderful suggestions/comments. As much as the fence looks distracting, it is but a pity that the authorities here wouldn't allow me to take even a tripod. So I don't think I would've been successful taking in a portable step ladder with me. Maybe someplace else some other time. Thanks for the time you guys took on commenting and giving me useful tips.
