I need some help with indoor action. This is a photo of my daughter dancing. In this one, if you zoom closer,
she has a soft focus and the audience behind her has a sharper focus. Is that because she is moving and they are not? How do you keep the focus on your subject when they are in fast paced action? (In this dance she moves closer then farther away or behind other dancers. When I see her again, the focus is on the dancer that was in front of her.) Thanks in advance ![]() Canon Rebel Xsi Exposure: 1/250 Aperture: f/2.5 Focal Length: 50mm ISO: 800

I'm not sure what the problem is. The picture is set on public. I looked at this thread before I logged in, and I can see the picture. I reposted the link. Hope you can see it now.

I can't remember if it was auto focal point. It was set to AI Servo. I don't know if there are any tricks to keeping one person in a moving group in focus or if it is just practice.

I think the trick is to select one of the nine focus points you want to use, then lock the focus (depress shutter halfway) on your subject behind that focal point. The camera should (set on al servo) attempt to keep the focus on that subject as it moves.
I haven't played w/ it too much, but I think that's how it works. Others, please correct me if I'm wrong. ![]() May take some practice too.
