Default Jump!

From International Award

Canon EOS 400D DIGITAL
F-stop - f/11
Exposure time - 1/1000 sec.
Iso Speed - 400

This was probably my first series of action shots.
How can I improve? I am not very familiar with post-processing images, but would like to know if there's anything I can do with this picture to improve it?
Any general critique - ideas are welcome

Thanks!

I like the shot, it shows movenment that is interesting to look at.
i like the way you left some room to the front of the jumper to jump into but i think it could have been better if the jumper had room to jump higher, he looks like he is going to hit his head right now.

Thanks!

I appreciate your comments.

I never realised about the room to jump higher, and I agree that the picture will look much better if it had more space at the top. Thanks

I'd ask the jumper to look a little more towards the sun, so that his face is less covered in shadows. That, or put up a light stand with a strobe to fill in the shadows. I'd also move the camera further down looking up at the jumper, so that you get more separation between the jumper and the background.
