This is my first post here on DPS! I'm extremely new to dSLR photography, so I'm looking forward to getting as much input and help as possible.
This is a shot I took the other day while longboarding on campus at Texas Tech University. I really enjoy the depth of field on this photo, but it seems that every photo I take ends up looking "washed-out". Actually, I get them looking relatively natural on my computer (IMO, at least), then post them to Flickr and look at them, and THEN they look washed out. Keep in mind, this is on the same current generation Macbook Pro, so it makes no sense to me. Anyway, let me know what you think, and thanks in advance for any comments (good or bad ).![]() Camera Model Name Olympus E-420 Shooting Date/Time 1/11/2009 16:27:00 Tv(Shutter Speed) 1/320 sec. Thanks for the comments! I agree about the back wheel and the background. I was thinking more about the DOF when I took the shot...looks like I need to work on thinking about all aspects of the shot before taking it.
Also, this photo may have been a bad example of the "washed out" look I'm talking about. This is one I actually used Auto Fix through Flickr for. If you'd like to see what I really meant, take a look at http://www.flickr.com/photos/kungfookielbasa/ to see what I'm talking about (most of the photos on there look washed out on my MBP. If they don't to you, I'm assuming it probably means my color calibration is off? Thoughts? |

Hmmm...not sure why you can only see one other photo. I just followed the link I provided on a computer at work and can see all of them.
Regardless, thanks for the comment. They actually look good on this computer too, so I'm assuming my color calibration is out of whack somehow on my MBP...just strange that they look fine in Photoshop, but not when I look at them online. |
