Is there anything in particular you want critique on or are you just showing us your shot? If it's the latter, I can move it to the Share Your Shots section.

well, i posted this under critique because after this shoot, i felt these pictures were just off somehow, and i was looking for maybe more objective opinions than i would be likely to recieve in share threads..

to me, the flash really killed this one, it blew out the front of the spine
bumping the ISO up would have negated the use of flash, which would have allowed for a faster shutter speed, which would have allowed you to stop the action more effectively

ya, agreed i really underestimated how much the concrete and the lip would reflect the flash. it did kinda kill it.

Jackson,

In the snow at the bottom there is enough detail left to PP in a little darken-masking to bring down the distraction. It's close but it isn't blown. As it is, it looks like bright snow, but if it bothers you, it's fixable.

I would also lighten his face, trousers and board to get detail that will gain him more attention against the darker background.

For me, I would have shot it in landscape and wait half a sec longer, then you would have had him higher and a little more leveled off and you would have seen the landing ramp a little more. Also could you have gotten any lower physically? That would have made him look even higher, almost flying over you.

That's just my 2cents...
