Default Hydros in Sammamish Lake

Hi there,
For those ones who enjoy fast moving objects I'm glad to share with you some of the shots I took couple weeks back in Lake Sammamish, there was some races and here's one of my favorite shots. I was standing at the shores using my 75-300 lens and I would like to know if the aperture was enough to catch the speed sensation. As always, general C& C are appreciated.
Thanks in advance.

Camera Canon EOS DIGITAL REBEL XTi
Exposure Time 0.008s (1/125)
Aperture f/9.0
ISO 100
Focal Length 180mm (288mm in 35mm)
Flash flash did not fire, compulsory flash mode
Exposure Program shutter priority
Exposure Bias 0 EV
Exposure Mode auto
White Balance auto

I like this. It's slower than I usually shoot, but the image is still very good. Maybe you can mix it up next time by uping the ISO and shooting a bit faster (even ISO 400 would do the trick if that's at ISO 100)

SJH Foto, Thanks for the suggestion, I would consider next time I shoot fast moving toys/objects.
Thanks for looking.

Ditto what he said. It might be good to do a little bit of experimenting to see if you can change things with ISO and have some other options as far as shutter speed and/or aperture (for different DOF).

I actually think the speed worked out pretty well. I like the fact that the rear ski is so out of focus while the front one is sharp (I imagine due to panning).
