So I was at the basketball game again last night. For the most part I was happy with my shots from last night. I'm going to post one of the shots I happiest with.
The good stuff: Model Canon EOS 50D ISO 12800 Exposure 1/1000 sec Aperture 3.5 Focal Length 28mm What I like: I really like the shooter and the guy blocking him. I think that may be the most interesting part of the picture. But I also like the other players around them. I think the shot is fairly well in focus. What I don't like: I am really starting to see the limitations of my lens. I think the shot would have been better if I could have gotten at a lower ISO setting. However, I'm still not sure I want to plunk down the cash for a faster lens but if I am going to be doing this more, I may have to. So what do you guys think? Should I have cropped it more to just be the shooter and the defender? I'm not looking for comments on the lens...I know about that... Thank you. |

You captured a good moment! I would crop out the guy on the left and some of the floor and fix the background tilt -- I think you'd have a really nice shot ...

Crop it as tight as you dare. I would look at just including the shooter and defender from the waist up if not too noisey. Or at least to the floor just below the player's feet to shot the vertical action.
