I still feel that my basketball shots need some work. I decided to go to a women's basketball game today to work on my skills a bit. I guess that's the nice thing about having a season long press pass because I don't think I'd pay to go to a women's game. It was still pretty fun.
I kind of like this shot but I think it might have been better if I had more of the shooter's arm in the picture. The focus seems okay. I'm aware that I need to get a better lens someday. so other than that, would you guys agree that I needed to get more of the shooter and less of the defender? The good stuff: Model Canon EOS 50D ISO 6400 Exposure 1/400 sec Aperture 5.0 Focal Length 53mm |

I'd like to see more of both the shooter and the defender with this sort of shot. For now, I'd shoot looser to increase the chance of getting the full scene, then as you get more practice, start to tighten up.
With a dark uniform like Wyo's, you might need to raise your exposure so the shadows don't block up so much. (Generally, you can recover more of the highlights than the shadows in post.) Also, Go WYO! ![]() (Too bad Wyo lost. When I was attending school in Laramie, I used to watch nearly all the women's home games so that I could get the seats I wanted for the men's games.)
