Default a dull day at the drag races

I was happy with most of the shot except the front tire definition, its rather dark. Help me out please.

When PPing lighten the bottom half of your pic.
There are a number of ways you can do this.

What software are you using?

I have editing software but I am a novice with it. The shot is pretty much as taken, except I took out some small glare spots. The sky was quite grey. I didn't want to lose the cars colors coming off the "greyish" overall background.
